Solar Powered House Truck from TinyHouse Talk

So I had to share with you this amazing solar powered box truck conversion home That I saw on Tiny House Talk recently. It was hand built by Joseph Tayyar who was tired of the hustle and bustle of the city life. Box trucks can blend in better to cities than RV’s or caravans as they call them in Europe. A box truck may be allowed to stay longer unnoticed compared to an RV which may be declared “camping” right away. His is a bit big but other smaller trucks allow long term campers to blend into the city landscape, already filled with work trucks. Allowing the user to stealth camp for free in great locations.

He had the idea in his head four years prior to making it a reality. He spent years planning and building it and did it all himself. Now he gets to enjoy living near the beach, traveling to the desert or even enjoying the city. His truck is totally self sufficient, powered by a ton of high powered solar panels and pure sine wave inverters.

There’s a large water tank and solar panels on the roof to keep it completely off the grid. Joseph is able to manage his career and work from his computer so he’s not confined to one particular geographical area.

And her daughter even has her own bedroom area in the back of the truck. His next goal is to purchase agricultural land to begin development of a village on wheels for others who want to live like this. This will be a place where they can grow their own food and exchange value with each other while coming and going as they wish.

  1. Wow…great home. You aren’t kidding about his having “a ton” of solar energy available – holy cow that’s a lot of panels! I’m sorta jealous! 🙂

I’m really impressed! You have a better set-up than some of those million dollar ones. Great use of space and very comfortable atmosphere. And, with solar power!!! This is exciting to see.
