Top 3 Complete Solar Power Kits to Buy – Most power for least money

I get a lot of questions about how to setup a basic solar system, many times people just don’t want to take the time to research each solar component and would much rather buy a premade solar power kit that they know will work together and produce power right away.

Solar Power Kits with everything you need to be energy independent

Here are my favorite premade solar power kits below, these all are very good values for the money and come with the proper waterproof wires and connectors that will make your life much easier and help your kit last longer outside. These kits do need you to add deep cycle batteries as they are VERY heavy and therefor ridiculously expensive to ship. You can find lead acid deep cycle batteries near your house very easily at auto part stores and large big box stores such as Walmart or Costco.

This is an excellent post for cost to value solar panel kits. However these are all manufactured in China. It doesn’t make too much difference on how you look at it, but there are some great deals for off-grid systems with some other more well known brands.

  2. I appreciate your information. I’m not in a position to buy land and build but the time will come and having this information will really help. Maybe it will cost even less when I’m ready in a couple of years. Hmmmmm. I wonder if I could connect a system to my mobile home? Electric heat would have to go, I suppose.

  3. Hi Wayne, love your blog, been following you since you first did those podcasts in 2006! Does the sun get blocked from your floating cabin in the winter? I guess solar power can’t really work if you don’t get any sun. You could get several more batteries to run your generator less and store the sun longer.

Wish we could can and save some of this solar power for winter when we only four hours of sunlight on a good day. But is still a great off the grid power source.

  5. Nice article! A solar power kit could be an investment but on the long term it can be much cheaper. Furthermore it is environmental friendly and you are not dependent on other energy sources.
